8th Annual OSF Quarter Auction

OSF Home Care Services is sponsoring our 8th Annual Quarter Auction on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1556 E. Fremont Street in Galesburg. All proceeds from this event will benefit the charitable programs of OSF Home Health and OSF Hospice services in the Galesburg, Monmouth, Kewanee and the surrounding area. OSF Home Care Services has a rich history rooted in the Sisters’ tradition of caring for others and never refuses treatment to anyone simply because of an inability to pay for services. Each year, OSF HealthCare provides millions of dollars of charity care in our communities. This simply could not happen without continued help and support. What is a Quarter Auction? It is a family fun event and a chance to win great prizes. Every participant receives a bid number for the evening and if an item catches your eye, simply throw in your quarter and raise your bid number. If your number is drawn from the bin, you win that prize. If your number is drawn, but you did not bid on that prize, then you do not win. All numbers are put back into the bin so that every participant is eligible to play for any prize. We also use some of the donated items on our silent auction tables, and a few of them are giveaway prizes during the auction to generate enthusiasm and participation. Examples of previously donated items include: gift certificates, gift baskets, and monetary donations. In the past, our Foundation funds were used to replace a stove for a family unable to afford a new one; a furnace when a patient receiving cancer treatment lost hers due to flooding; a window air conditioning unit for a hospice patient to keep them more comfortable in the summer months and a toddler bed for a dying child so he could comfortably stay in the living room with family. Funds have also been used to provide holiday meals, as well as meal assistance, and medication assistance.
