Receptionist/Independent Living Advocate

Stone-Hayes Center for Independent Living is seeking individual for full-time position as Receptionist/Independent Living Advocate.
Nature of work: Administrative duties as directed by Executive Director or Associate Director; provide the FIVE core Independent Living Services; independent living skills training; peer counseling; advocacy; information and referral and transition students. This position also requires participation in the Center’s Community Services activities.

Duties include but not limited to: Answering phone; fielding messages; audit CSR files; provide independent living skill training; provide individual and systemic advocacy services; provide information and referral services; participate in the development and implementation of Center’s peer counseling program; document all activities and provide written reports/case notes as required; participates in committee and liaison activities as assigned.

Qualifications: Associates’ degree and/or equivalent experience working in field of independent living; demonstrated skills working with diverse populations; ability to work with minimal supervision; develop and completion of projects; and computer literacy with willingness to learn Center’s data base program for reporting requirements; working knowledge of or experience in disability related laws or demonstrated ability to learn complex technical information.
