POSITION TITLE: ELECTRONIC BANKING SPECIALIST

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, assists Vice President and Electronic Banking Manager with various aspects of Internet Banking technology. Will recommend electronic banking solutions and assist with Internet Banking and Mobile Banking set-up and maintenance for customers. Makes presentations regarding Electronic Banking solutions to individuals and groups. Must be professional, detail oriented and be willing to educate customers about the electronic banking product line offered by Midwest Bank. Will perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
- Approve/decline Online Internet Banking (IB) applications.
- Log approved applicants on the IB log sheet.
- Send Welcome Letter to newly approved IB applicant.
- Research and approve/decline IB New Account Add Requests.
- Research and approve/decline IB External Transfer Add Requests.
- Log approved IB External Transfers on Log Sheet.
- Research/respond to IB Messages.
- Monitor and resolve IB Billpay cases in CheckFree PartnerCare.
- Perform Address Changes in both FirstData and SHAZAM.
- Answer IB/Mobile Banking customer inquiries in person/on phone.
- Print Daily Reports for IB Sponsor Reporting and file
- Log activity in logbook for IB Sponsor Reporting
- Prepare monthly SHAZAM and EB Board Reports
- Assist with research and document preparation for audits and exams
- Work with the ACH Coordinator and prepare reports on Cash Management Originators
- Research and monitor Mobile Check Deposits
- Assist Remote Deposit Capture customers with problems
ADDITIONAL DUTIES THAT ARE REQUIRED:
- Sending an email with an attachment (or by mail), a Request for IB Services Access Form if one is not received with the online application.
- Decline online IB applications that have been pending for one month.
- Contact IB customer if External Transfer Form has not been received after 10 days.
- Obtain Loan Officer approval and approve Loan Advance requests; make copy for file.
- Research and Respond to IB Webmail messages.
- IB Name changes and account removal.
- Checked to see if Deceased Synopsis Account Holder has IB.
- Remove IB access for Charged Off and closed accounts.
- Print month-end reports for IB Sponsor Reporting
- Log activity in logbook for Sponsor Reporting
- Create Excel Spreadsheets monthly and annually
- Assist with creating Cash Management contracts for annual renewal
- Scan Sponsor Reporting Log and reports on annual basis
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, staff, auditors, and examiners.
- The ability to use Windows computer programs and the Internet.
- Strong background with Excel
- Knowledge of all types of computer operating systems, network devices and bank and application software, web page design and PDA communications.
- Analytical skills to effectively evaluate all types of computer related information.
- Willingness to cross-train in other areas of computer operations.
- Must be willing to complete further education in job specific discipline.
- Mental and physical job requirements are as follows:
- Must be able to take the strain of busy office work.
- Eye strain from extended periods of time on the personal computers.
- Physical strain on the wrist from using the computer keyboard for
- extended periods of time.
- Must be able to go up and down stairs.
- Must have a driver’s license and have access to an automobile.
- Must be willing to travel to other regions as needed.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED BY THE JOB.
1. High school diploma or equivalent. College degree is preferred.
2. Minimum two years of computer experience with a high level of computer literacy.
3. At least six months work experience in the bank environment, to become familiar with bank operations and product line. Experience with Internet Banking or Electronic Banking services preferred.
4. Must have an understanding of the bank environment such as following established procedures and information technology regulation/compliance.
