The Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport set a new passenger record in 2018, serving more than 672,000 passengers. Meanwhile, the airport just had a record February in 2019.
Doug Palmer has been promoted to Assistant Airport Director, Operations and Maintenance for the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria, which operates both the Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport and Mt. Hawley Airport. Palmer has worked for MAAP in various roles since 2010, most recently as Director of Operations and Maintenance.
Steve Perrone is the new Director of Finance and Administration for MAAP. Perrone was most recently a senior associate with CliftonLarsonAllen, specializing in local government and non-profit audits and consulting.
The airport, which has 11 nonstop destinations on four airlines and free parking, will also have a new restaurant operator as of April 1.
Faber, a New Jersey-based firm, operates restaurants and gift shops in airports across the country.
