About Us
General Assistance is a safety net after all other resources have been exhausted. A client must meet the following criteria:
1. Reside in Galesburg or one of the Knox City townships served.
2. Qualify according to specific financial, income and asset guidelines.
3. Not be eligible for other government welfare programs such as TANF/SSI/AABD/RRA
If qualified The Township can help with Rent, Power, Water, and various vouchers for clothing, food,
Plan B, Narcan, Condoms etc.
