PIA celebrates 20 years of Allegiant flights
Peoria, IL – Allegiant Airlines started service at General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport (PIA) in March 2004, with 5x weekly service to Las Vegas.
“We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Allegiant. For 20 years our organizations have worked together to grow air service in the Peoria area and are honored to be one of the first cities Allegiant chose to develop as a core city. Over 20 years, Allegiant has grown to 20 weekly flights to 10 destinations. They originally made up 13% of PIA’s airline passenger market share and now are at about 49%. PIA is also rare in Allegiant’s system since they have approximately 40+ direct company employees, when most of their stations are outsourced to a contractor.
Since March of 2004 there have been more than 3.3 million Allegiant passengers, in and out of PIA!
